About me:

Hi! I’m Paulina and I have been teaching Polish as a foreign language since 2009.
I can honestly say that I could not have chosen a better profession! I get to know the world through my students’ eyes, and during each lesson I learn not only about them, their countries and cultures; but also about myself, my language, and my culture.

I firmly believe in the expression that "education is a relationship", which is why I care about fostering a friendly atmosphere in my classes and always try to get to know my students well. I am open, energetic, empathetic and often smiling.

In my private life I am a mother who likes reading books, watching good movies and series both at home and at the cinema, going on trips (both long and short) with my son, eating tasty food, and enjoying life.

Qualifications and experience:

- I studied Polish Philology with specialisation in teaching Polish as a foreign language and graduated from Jagiellonian University in 2009 and have been working in this area ever since;
- I am the author of "Polski Krok Po Kroku - Junior" - a series of Polish language textbooks for children and teenagers;
- I have worked in many private language schools in Kraków - including over ten years at GLOSSA School of Foreign Languages;
- I have worked as a trainer for teachers - both in Poland and abroad;
- I make methodological videos for Polish language teachers ("Lekcje z Juniorem" on YouTube);
- I am an official examiner for Polish language certification exams.

Methods of teaching

I teach using the communicative method, which believes that speaking is the most important part of our classes. Other aspects of our lessons - such as reading, listening or grammar exercises - are also intended to provoke communication.

I also like to use a variety of visual materials to diversify lessons, such as games and teaching aids, but a good relationship with the student, helping us to keep a friendly atmosphere and a smile, guarantees effective learning.

I currently only teach online.

My students appreciate our lessons because:
- they are effective so they can quickly start speaking some Polish;
- they have a good balance - they are not too easy but also not too difficult;
- they feel at ease with me, and the time spent learning is a pleasure;
- I correct their mistakes and during the classes I write down corrections, thanks to which they can quickly eliminate mistakes;
- I am cheerful, patient, and during the lessons we talk and joke a lot, so they learn without even knowing it.
